Curriculum Overview

At Blackfordby Primary School, our curriculum is designed to help every child flourish and succeed as part of the RISE Multi Academy Trust family. It provides a broad, balanced and ambitious education that builds knowledge step‑by‑step and supports the development of curiosity, confidence and creativity.

Our Curriculum Intent

We provide an ambitious curriculum for all pupils, including SEND.

Knowledge builds logically over time, preparing children for the next stage.

Christian values underpin learning, helping children become compassionate, responsible individuals.

We prioritise reading, vocabulary, and rich learning experiences.

Our Curriculum Implementation

Subjects are taught through well‑planned sequences.

Teachers check understanding regularly and adapt learning to support all pupils.

Curriculum maps ensure progressive knowledge and skills across all year groups.

SEND pupils access learning through clear adaptations, scaffolds and adult support.

Our Curriculum Impact

Pupils achieve well and remember important knowledge.

Assessments, pupil voice and class work show secure progress over time.

Children develop confidence, independence, and love of learning.
